Naturopathy is complementary care
The guidance here is complementary care. It does not replace a doctor, it does not replace medical tests your doctor has asked you to have, and it does not replace medication you are taking.
What the DUTCH test does, and what it does not
The test maps and measures. It is a mapping tool, not a diagnostic one. It shows how your hormones and their metabolites behave across a full day. It cannot diagnose a disease, and one test on its own never tells the whole story about you.
Never stop a prescribed medication, and never change a dose, because of a result in this test or something said in the consultation. That decision belongs with the doctor who prescribed it, and with them alone.
If something needs a doctor, we will say so
If something in your results looks like it needs medical attention, we will tell you directly and ask you to take it to your doctor. That is a promise, not small print.
Who we are
Shira and her team are certified naturopaths, not physicians. We do not diagnose illness and we do not prescribe medication.
When to speak to a doctor first
- If you are pregnant or breastfeeding.
- If you are being treated for cancer, or have had a hormone-sensitive tumour in the past.
- If you are on hormone therapy of any kind, including fertility treatment and contraception. These change what the test will show.
The aim is understanding
